Don’t wait for the perfect moment to get started – If you wait for the “perfect moment,” you will be waiting for a long time, if not forever. Don’t waste time and get started with what you have. Improvise as you go.
Know and focus on your priorities – Don’t just be busy; be productive. Focus on what really matters and let go of what does not. Your time is precious so make it count!
Share your goals – When you share your goals with your family and friends, you will feel more accountable to achieving them. The more people you share with, the more motivated you will be to accomplishing your goals. Show everyone what you’re capable of.
Learn to say noso that you can say yes to something better – There are only 24 hours in a day, so if something isn’t worth your time, say no. It won’t matter 10 years from now whether or not you attend that party next Saturday. True friends will understand and won’t hold it against you.
Catch yourself every time you complain or make excuses – Stop yourself before it becomes your daily language. Nobody wants to hear you complain. The time you spend complaining, is time that can better be spent doing something to fix it.
Take action – An idea is useless if it is not implemented. Saying that you want to do something is not enough. Put your ideas to action before someone else does.
Believe in yourself – Even when others don’t. Don’t let people’s discouragement drag you down. Instead, let their negativity be your motivation to prove them wrong and show them what you can achieve.
Don’t let your fear or worries limit you – Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone. Don’t let fear stop you from doing what you want and getting to where you want to be. Remember, fear is all in your head. Often times, the things you worry about don’t end up happening!
Take care of your body – Nothing is more important than your health. Get up, stretch, and take a walk at least once every hour, even if it is to the water cooler.
Make time for yourself – How many times have you forgotten to keep your New Year’s resolutions? It’s important to take the time to reflect on your goals and evaluate your progress. Make sure you’re on the right track to where you want to be.
You’re going to fail several times – But don’t drag failures on. Get back up quickly and move on to your next big thing. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes and failing; know what went wrong and learn from them.
Don’t gamble; Take calculated risks – And take them when you’re still young. The older you get, the harder it is. When you don’t risk anything, you are also risking everything. Don’t live in a life of regret.
Meet different kinds of people – Learn to really listen and understand others. It will make you a better communicator and have more effect on others.
Never stop learning – YOU are your most important asset, so invest in yourself! Read as many books as possible. When you stop learning, you stop growing.
The more comfortable you are at your job doing work that you don’t want to be doing, the harder it is for you to leave and purse your dreams – You don’t learn and grow by being comfortable. Learn as much as you can from your job and move on. Life is too short to be working over 40 hours a week at a job you don’t like.
Surround yourself with people who are smarter and more successful than you – Find out where they hang out and spend more time there. Talk to the people who are already in the position where you want to be. Learn from them and challenge yourself.
You cannot please everyone – Learn to be okay with that. Don’t spend your energy trying to make everyone like you. Invest your time on those who are worthy of it.
Be happy and optimistic – Surround yourself with optimistic people. Don’t let other people’s negativity influence you and bring you down.
Don’t chase money – Money can only buy happiness up to a certain point. Find what makes you happy first and focus on doing that. Success and money comes after.
Find your passion – Work won’t seem like work when you find your true passion. Most of your hours in a day are spent at work, so don’t spend the majority of your life doing something you hate.
Don’t just work hard – That’s not enough. You need to work hard and work smart.
Spend your money on experiences, not material goods –You don’t need that fancy bag or expensive pair of shoes. Instead, travel as much as you can and explore the world.
Think and dream big – You become what you think so think big and don’t settle for mediocre. Life is too short for it to only be mediocre.
Spend less time on your cell phone – Don’t spend your time catching up on statuses of your Facebook friends, most of which you may no longer even talk to. Instead, spend quality time with your loved ones. Arrange a meeting in person or have a Skype date. It is more meaningful.
Love yourself and be grateful for who you are and what you have – We always want more than we have, but once we have it, we will still want more. It will never be enough until you learn to appreciate what you have.
